The social-economic changes in Uzbekistan SSR during the period of 1925-1991 led to significant developments in industry, particularly in the cotton industry. Collective farming was implemented in rural areas, with 97% of agricultural land belonging to collective and state farms. The urban population increased from 8% in 1926 to 41% in 1989. Significant improvements were also seen in education and healthcare services, with a notable increase in the number of schools and hospitals
