Koʻkbel, qizilbosh (Aythya ferina) is a bird belonging to the duck family. It weighs 0.7–1.3 kg, has good plumage, and is migratory. Found in Europe, Asia, and America, it winters in Africa (especially the Nile River basin). In Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, it migrates during spring and can be spotted in lakes and ponds, sometimes staying during winter. It lives in deep and large ponds, building nests among reeds and laying 6–15 eggs. It feeds on aquatic plants, mollusks, and insect larvae. Its meat is delicious and is hunted
