This scientific article deeply analyzes the complex socio-political processes in Uzbekistan on the eve of independence reaching (late 1980s - 1991). It examines the influence of the "Perestroika" policy started in the former USSR on Uzbek society, the strengthening of national identity movements, and the emergence of social problems amidst democratic changes and economic difficulties
